About me
I am Rebecca Garwood, a person-centred counsellor and registered member of the BACP.
I believe therapy should feel like a space where you do not have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or hold things together alone. My role is not to “fix” you, but to sit alongside you with warmth, curiosity, and acceptance as we explore whatever feels important for you.
Creativity is an important part of how I work. Sometimes experiences can feel difficult to put into words, and creative approaches can offer another way of expressing, understanding, or making sense of what is being carried. This might include imagery, metaphor, objects, journalling, or other gentle creative exercises, always at your pace and only if it feels helpful for you. Creative approaches are always optional, and many clients choose to work through talking alone.
Alongside my professional training, my personal experiences of grief and loss have deeply shaped the way I understand the importance of feeling heard, held, and accepted within a therapeutic relationship.
I am committed to ongoing personal and professional development and am supported in my work through regular clinical supervision.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
